“Such an achievement is a great milestone for us as Shebeenians because we won Best HipHop Group with only our debut album as a duo and our crew was also nominated in a number of other categories”, said Dough Major.
Dingo Duke expressed excitement and recognized other artists they were nominated with in their category for best group.
“We’re pretty excited, the category we were nominated in was tough because we had to go against other talented groups such as Holy Ten and Micheal Maggz, that’s why we’re very honored and have so much respect for these guys because there are working hard and pushing their craft”, said Dingo Duke.
An interview with rapper R Peels, reviewed how the Shebeen Rap team was a force to be reckoned with at the awards and how this shows their diversity in the ZimHipHop industry.
“As team Shebeen Rap, we had seven categories that we were nominated in, it resembles the amount of hard work we been putting in and the multiple facets of ZimHipHop we have been tapping into for the past couple years”, said R Peels.

“Honestly for me, as a producer for Shabeen Rap, it was overwhelming and amazing to be nominated in a number of categories at the ZimHipHop Awards because producers are usually seen as the guys who only make beats and are not supposed to be where the artists are.”
“I have been a HipHop producer since the early 2010’s and the advice I can give to other upcoming producers is that they should not isolate themselves but should go to other studios, meet and network with other seasoned producers so that they learn and grow their craft”, said Tricky.
